Buyer guide
How to pay
Pay from an app you already have, then confirm it.
1. Pay
Your payment link opens a checkout at pay.peer.xyz. Keep the original message or order confirmation so you can find your way back.
- Select
Pick your payment app and press "Start Payment".
- Pay
Send the exact amount to the recipient shown.
- Come back
Press "I have completed payment".
The screen headed IMPORTANT means it
Fund from your balance or a debit or credit card, never a bank transfer. Send friends and family, never goods and services: purchase protection costs you 25 percent. On PayPal, send the currency the recipient receives, or lose another 5 percent.
Apps you can pay with
Venmo
Cash App
PayPal
Zelle
Chime
Revolut
Wise
Monzo
N26 too, and some stores take a crypto wallet. The store picks which appear, and anything with no liquidity for your amount shows as unavailable. Not every Zelle bank is supported.
2. Confirm your payment
Most checkouts ask for one thing: the transaction ID. You install nothing.
- Find the ID
It is on your payment confirmation. The "Cannot find transaction ID?" link shows you where.
- Hand it over
Type it, or drop in a screenshot and the checkout reads it off. PNG, JPEG or WebP under 5MB.
- Verify
A green check means done. Nobody reviews it by hand.
PayPal is the exception: enter the name on your PayPal account instead. If the checkout asks you to confirm in the Peer app or the extension instead of for an ID, see section 4.
3. What goes wrong
- Goods and services on Venmo or PayPal. It cannot verify. Use friends and family instead.
- Rounding the amount. $147.50 means exactly $147.50.
- Changing the payment method after paying. Confirming the change cancels the active payment. If you already sent money, keep the current payment open and use the chat.
- Sending twice. If something looked wrong, stop and open the chat bubble on the checkout.
If it will not go through
| Situation | Do this |
|---|---|
| It will not verify | Use the chat bubble or "Need help verifying?". Both reach Peer support with the order context needed to investigate. |
| Time ran out | Request more time on the expired screen, or start a fresh payment. If you already sent money, use the chat. |
| Paid, still pending | Give it a few minutes, then open the chat with a screenshot of your confirmation. |
| Paid, order cancelled | Open the chat with your payment confirmation. Do not pay again or start another attempt. |
4. The Peer app and extension
Some stores use the other route: you confirm the payment yourself in the Peer app or the PeerAuth browser extension. The checkout says which one you are on before you pay.
Scan the QR code on the checkout to finish in the Peer app, or install the PeerAuth Chrome extension and pin it from the puzzle icon. Then open your payment app in a Chrome tab and log in on the desktop site.
You log in with your provider directly and Peer never sees your password. An enclave verifies the payment evidence privately, without sharing those credentials. You do have to be able to log in to the account the money came from.
Support: @PeerConcierge on Telegram, or concierge@peer.xyz.
